The Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Halifax offers a diverse and dynamic range of programs that serve children and youth from a broad spectrum of backgrounds and neighbourhoods. We help more than 3,700 kids annually. We provide safe, supportive spaces where children and youth can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships, and develop confidence and skills for life. At the Boys and Girls Club, every kid is a kid of privilege.
After School Program offered here offers programs for children currently enrolled in grades Primary – 6. Children can participate in and experience a wide range of activities including recreation, physical activity, cooking, arts/crafts, reading, and leadership (“Torch” program).
This site currently serves children attending, Chebucto Heights, Central Spryfield, Fleming Tower and John W. MacLeod schools. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to arrange for transportation to for their child/ren).
Raise The Grade is an academic success and life skills after-school program for youth in grades 7-12 in the Spryfield area. Youth in this program will focus on achieving academic and personal goals, as well as having the opportunity to explore personal interest opportunities, with the support of staff, volunteer tutor, and mentors. The aim is to encourage youth and support families by giving them free access to tutoring, technology, and a supportive environment.
