Herring Cove Counselling Centre is a group of Registered Counselling Therapists or Registered Counselling Therapist - Candidates (RCT-C). Which means they have completed Master’s degrees in Counselling and/or Psychotherapy and are registered with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists (NSCCT). We adhere to rigorous and recognized Standards of Practice and a prescribed Code of Ethics.
The Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists describes counselling therapy as follows:
Assisting clients through the counselling relationship, using a combination of mental health and human development principles, methods and techniques to achieve mental, emotional, physical, social, moral, educational, spiritual or career development and adjustment through their lifespan.
All of theri practitioners bring with them significant life experience, both professionally and personally.
As a group of practitioners, they understand the importance of diversity and equality. They aim to offer an accessible and inclusive service to all people. They seek to create a welcoming environment, appreciating differences including race, ethnicity, culture, class, age, abilities, neurodiversity, sexual orientation, gender identities, religion and beliefs.
