Wayfarers Church
A long time ago, it was much harder to travel. You couldn’t bus, bike, or fly. You had to walk. There’s an old tradition that travelers, or using the old word, “wayfarers”, always had the option to stop at a church and be given food and drink to sustain them on their travels. We want to be that kind of church. However, we don’t want to provide merely for physical needs. We know the bread of life and the water, that if people drink from, they will never thirst again. We want to make Him, Jesus, known to people who come across our church on their journey. Our hope is that many would respond to embrace faith in Jesus and journey together with us. The first label for followers of Jesus were those “belonging to the Way” (Acts 9:2). We embrace the same faith those first believers embraced in the book of Acts. We know that if Jesus did not make Himself and His way of life known to us, we would still be wandering aimlessly through life towards death.
