Dan is a busy entrepreneur, as the owner of Chebucto News, Water ‘N’ Wine Spryfield, and a real estate agent with Exit Realty Metro for the past 15 years.  He moved to Halifax from Fredericton in 1969 after receiving a Diploma in Business Administration from the Saint John Institute of Technology.  He worked with CN Rail for 19 years in Halifax, Dartmouth and Truro.  He and his late wife Linda opened Danielsons Tobacco in South Centre Mall in Spryfield in 1992, which he sold in early 2020.  He opened Water ‘N’ Wine in 1993, running it at the Danielsons location.  They’ve expanded over the years and now operate out of their spacious, bright building at 2 Mont Street, next to the Guardian Drug Store.  He regularly runs wine specials, so be sure to keep your eyes open for their ads in the Chebucto News and on their Facebook page.  Don’t have space to make wine at home?  Let them do it for you!

Dan volunteered for 13 years with Scouts Canada, running a Beaver Colony, Cub Pack, Scout Troup and then serving as Chairman of the 7th Sackville Group Committee.  He was a founding member of the District 18 Business and Development Association, as well as its Treasurer for several years. He is a Past Chairman of the Spryfield Business Commission.  Dan and his family own and publish the Chebucto News, a monthly community newspaper servicing the area from the Armdale Roundabout to Sambro and all of the communities in between. He lives in the new Governors Brook subdivision in Spryfield and while his Real Estate business encompasses all of HRM he is a tireless promoter of “Beautiful Downtown Spryfield” and the opportunities for growth and development in the community.
